DAA Indivisible/What We Do if Rosenstein Is Fired

First of all, today Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, #2 at the Justice Department and Robert Mueller’s boss, is in the midst of prepping to argue a case before the Supreme Court on April 23. It is a technical case about sentencing guidelines, only of interest to us because it would be highly unusual for a Deputy Attorney General to be fired in the midst of a pending Supreme Court matter. But, ‘unusual’ is usual nowadays. 45 is on a tirade because Rosenstein signed off on a Mueller referral to the U.S. attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York that in turn executed a series of search warrants that resulted in a raid of the offices and home of 45’s ‘fixer’ attorney Michael Cohen. As an interesting aside, Mr. Sessions appointed the United States attorney for the Southern District, Geoffrey S. Berman, only in January. Mr. Berman is a former law partner of Rudolph W. Giuliani, a former New York mayor and a 45 supporter. This is a gaggle of Republicans, so whatever they were hunting must be fairly intense.

Here’s what our friends at Rapid Resist, Indivisible and MoveOn have to say about what we should do if Mr. Rosenstein is fired. Keep a copy handy should 45 follow through on his threats.

‘Today we made preparations for Trump firing Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein. We can’t let Trump get away with this brazen attack on our democracy. So if he takes this step we will reach out to nearly 1 million people represented by legislators best able to protect Mueller and our democratic freedoms.

The way to stop Trump is by launching targeted, massive rallies that key senators and congressman can’t ignore. We will need all hands on deck at this urgent moment.

You can sign up in advance to join text campaigns for rallies in 19 key congressional districts.

Folks that sign up will receive a push notification as soon as we’re ready to start texting and will be able to start asap. Let’s be prepared.’
