DAA Indivisible: IMPORTANT Women’s March Poster Party Sunday 1/14/CHIP

I hope you will come to our Women’s March poster party.  Due to popular demand the date has been changed.  It is now THIS SUNDAY, January 141-3pm, at the LA FED office  24488 Lyons Ave. #25, Newhall (near Vincenzon’s Pizza).  We’ll have snacks  and some supplies but we recommend bringing poster paper (from Office Mas/Staples/Rite Aid, etc.) markers, glue sticks and glitter, etc, and loads of creativity to share.  Please drop by, tell your friends and spread the word.

It’s been more than 100 days since Congress allowed the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP, known as Healthy Families in California) to lapse. Even in this Congress — the most shameful and morally bankrupt in American history — this inaction stands out as one of the cruelest, most depraved failures imaginable.

9,000,000 low-income children and pregnant women will permanently lose comprehensive and affordable health care coverage if Congress doesn’t act. We must hold their feet to the fire as passionately and forcefully as we defended Obamacare last year.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Call our representatives and senators at and request they fund CHIP for five years as part of the Jan. 1‌9 vote to fund the federal government;
  • Help get the word out on social media — use #SaveCHIP to educate your friends and family about why this is so important to millions of Californians;
  • Tell your coworkers, neighbors, and friends to join you! The more people speak out about the importance of CHIP, the greater the impact on Congress.

Republicans just gave trillions of dollars to the ultrarich in tax cuts. There is simply no excuse for cutting off this life-saving and life-changing healthcare for children and pregnant women.

Democratically Yours,

Eric C. Bauman, RN, Chair
California Democratic Party

Call Congressman Knight and say something like:
I hope the Congressman will work to make CHIP funding part of the January 19 vote to fund the government.

And, tell our Senators (they support CHIP but this is a little different and they need to hear that it should be part of the funding bill). Say something like:
I hope the Senator will work to make CHIP funding part of the January 19 vote to fund the government.
