Today is a two-fer.
1. If you haven’t already done so today, please call Congressman Knight on the Tax Scam. They’re voting this week and the only way we can stop this crime against America is by giving it as much attention as we gave to health care, because it IS about cutting health care by creating a $1.5 trillion dollar deficit so that there is no money left for healthcare, Medicare, and Medicaid. 45’s Tax Scam gives 54% of California’s tax cuts to millionaires, even though they only make up .6% of the population. An average of $192,000 or 5% of their income. Meanwhile, the 38.3% of Californian’s who make less than $45,000 would get 3.8% of the cut, $230/person or .9% of their income and they’ll be giving up their social safety net like school lunches, college tuition tax deductions, and Medicaid and Medicare down the road. And, by the way, where is the infrastructure bill for roads and bridges??!!!
Call Congressman Knight and say something simple like: I’m against the GOPs unbalanced tax bill. It will hurt our district. Please vote against it.

2. Time is running out for DREAMers who received deferred deportation under an Obama-era executive order known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). DREAMers’ lives were upended in September when 45 ended DACA and kicked the can to Congress. Congress has until March to act, but we can’t wait until then. Every day without a DREAM Act is a day where immigrant youth are placed at risk. Republican leadership has made it clear they don’t want to include the DREAM Act in their December funding bill (one of the last chances to pass some sort of relief). Sens. Kamala Harris (D-NJ), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Bernie Sanders (I-VT), and Cory Booker (D-NJ), as well as Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MI), all announced they won’t support a government spending bill unless Republicans move forward with protections for DREAMers.
So, call our Senators. Thank Kamala Harris for playing hardball, and ask Senator Feinstein to do the same.
Tell Senator Harris‘s staff – I would like to thank the Senator for her tough stance on Dreamers.
Senator Kamala Harris
Ask Senator Feinstein‘s office –
Will the the Senator commit to do everything she can to pass the DREAM Act as soon as possible, but if it hasn’t passed by December insist that it be included in the December government spending bill?
