DAA Indivisible: Good News but Don’t Trust Them + Puerto Rico

It looks like there are 3 ‘no’ votes on Graham-Cassidy. Susan Collins, Rand Paul and John McCain.  Whoopty Do!  All we need is 3 votes to stop the 50 vote reconciliation process.  However, it ain’t over ’til its over.  McConnell and Trump have through September 30, 5 more days.  Do not let up.  At the very least, call your friends and relatives in Arizona and ask them to call McCain and thank him for saying he will vote ‘no’ on Graham-Cassidy.  Use all the tools I have posted over the last few days to call California Senators Feinstein and Harris to encourage them to ‘run out the clock’ if there is a vote.   And, use this tool to call our Democratic friends in other states and ask them to call their Senators to encourage them to vote ‘no’.  (Indivisible made 191,000 calls so far).  https://www.trumpcareten.org/calls-to-kill-trumpcare

AND, there are other issues that deserve our attention.

Congress must provide immediate emergency disaster relief to Puerto Rico. Our thoughts are with the 3.5 million people of Puerto Rico, American citizens who deserve the same protection and federal support as any other American city or state. Right now the island remains under water, without power, and at least ten are dead. So, call Steve Knight and say something like”

Puerto Ricans are American citizens.  Please vote for immediate emergency hurricane disaster relief for the 3.5 million people of Puerto Rico.

And, if you can, please make a donation to Unidos, an Indivisible recommended charity, to help people on the ground right now. The fund will be managed by the Hispanic Federation, a leading Latino nonprofit organization with more than 25 years of experience in providing disaster-relief assistance to Latinos in the United States and Latin America. One hundred percent of the proceeds will help hurricane victims and the recovery efforts through fellow community and civic organizations in Puerto Rico.  https://hispanicfederation.org/donate/
