DAA Indivisible: Time to Get Tough & Run Out the Clock

Lives are at stake, It is time to play hardball.

Democratic Senators should be doing everything they can to stop Graham-Cassidy/Trumpcare from getting through the Senate.

The window to get TrumpCare through is closingThe Senate parliamentarian has ruled that Republicans must pass their TrumpCare by September 30. They aren’t even waiting for the Congressional Budget Office score. Democrats aren’t in control, but they can still resist. They can slow down Senate business in order to run out the clock on TrumpCare. Here’s how: Resist through procedure. They can slow down Senate business through a combination of filibustering and  “withholding consent.” The rules of the Senate are so complicated that Senators have to regularly consent to waiving some of them so that they can actually get work done. That includes shortening time for debates, expediting consideration of amendments, and scheduling committees. Our Senators can slow the Senate down to a crawl and focus attention to TrumpCare by withholding consent on legislative business.Constituents from around the country are begging them to do just that. Time to join them! (from Indivisible)

For the elderly in nursing home Medical beds.  For the disabled just trying to get by. For the poor single mothers who get their services at Planned Parenthood because it is in their neighborhood and they have the near impossible task of taking their kids with with them for a pap smear appointment.  The Hell with any unspoken rules of Senate courtesy. We have to pull out all the stops to stop TrumpCare.  Call our Senators and say something like:

Will the Senator commit to running out the clock to halt the Graham-Cassidy vote?
